For more than four decades, Partners in Friendship has connected students from Aiken, South Carolina and Orvieto, Italy through an immersive cultural exchange built on one simple idea: friendship has the power to bridge continents.

As a partnership between Aiken and Orvieto, Partners in Friendship offers students something far more meaningful than a traditional tour. Instead of simply visiting another country, participants become a part of it—living with host families, attending local events, sharing everyday moments, and experiencing life through the eyes of another culture.

It is through these authentic experiences that lasting friendships are formed, perspectives are broadened, and confidence begins to grow.

Students return home with unforgettable memories, a deeper appreciation for both Italian and American cultures, and a global perspective that stays with them for life. Many continue the friendships they formed abroad for years—even decades—after the exchange ends.
